Complementing our wide-ranging environmental initiatives, FIJI Water is equally committed to advancing social welfare and economic opportunities of some of the most underprivileged communities. Through our own FIJI Water Foundation, one of the largest nonprofit organizations operating in Fiji, we are driving the development of critical clean water infrastructure, supporting much needed healthcare programs and services, and providing funds to improve the availability and quality of education for all age groups.
In Fiji and around the world, FIJI Water and the FIJI Water Foundation also step up in times of greatest need, contributing product, resources and funds to support disaster relief efforts. Every year, FIJI Water employees also participate in corporate-wide charitable programs, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to nonprofit organizations worldwide and taking part in philanthropic activities such as Habitat for Humanity volunteer days.
In its most significant form, FIJI Water presents a true sustainable business model to the developing country of Fiji and around the world. Our business relies on one of the few completely renewable resources and represents a vital component of the Fijian economy, propelling its growth. FIJI Water provides this nation with a rare chance to engage in the global economy and delivers high-value employment opportunities as well as much needed foreign investment. From a global perspective, FIJI Water strives to be a first-class corporate citizen, investing in the health and wellbeing of our planet as well as its people.
In 2004, we were pleased to receive the U.S. State Department’s Award for Corporate Excellence for Outstanding Corporate Citizenship, Innovation, and Exemplary International Business Practice. This award recognized FIJI Water for the vital role it plays in Fiji.
